John is a New York State Licensed psychotherapist. He has a master's degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. His specialty is chemical dependency. John has worked in the addiction field for more than 30 years in diverse treatment modalities. He is internationally and nationally certified as a substance abuse specialist. John believes that in order to be successful in recovery it is necessary to understand that addiction is a brain disorder, not the result of a moral failure.
Deborah Osborne-Levy, LCSW, LMSW, CASAC
Deborah is a New York State Licensed Social Worker, and internationally and nationally certified substance abuse professional. Deborah has over 30 years experience specializing in the treatment of dually diagnosed individuals in a variety of in-patient and out-patient settings. She believes that spirituality is an integral part of treatment, along with medication and evidence based practices.
According to the National Institute on Health, whether individuals develop mental health problems because of compulsive drug use, or take drugs in an attempt to alleviate symptoms of mental health disorders, it is important to treat both problems at the same time. ACT Interventions is staffed by licensed mental health professionals who can provide psychotherapy and access to psychiatric services.
Maxie Padilla, LCSW-R, CASAC
Maxie Padilla is a New York State licensed psychotherapist. She has a master's degree from Hunter College School of Social Work, in New York. Her specialties are chemical dependency and life coaching. Maxie has worked in the addiction field for 28 years in out-patient settings, and hospital-based programs. She believes addiction is a disease with biological, neurological, genetic, and environmental sources of origin.
